Halliburton cut about 1,000 jobs at its Houston headquarters this week as oil and gas activity continued to plunge because of the coronavirus pandemic. The world's second-largest oilfield services company acknowledged it has laid off workers across its global footprint, but didn't disclose details. In late March, it had furloughed about 3,500 employees at its main Houston campus, but the furloughs ended Monday, spokeswoman Emily Mir said.
