LG化學計劃在韓國新建大型聚烯烴彈性體工廠

　　據(jù)悉，韓國領先的化工生產商LG化學公司周一表示，公司計劃投資4000億韓元（3.514億美元）在韓國新建一座彈性體工廠以滿足日益增長的需求。這座選址位于大山的新工廠設計年產20萬噸的Lucene品牌的熱塑性聚烯烴彈性體，預計2018年投產，屆時LG化學的這種彈性體產量擴大至29萬噸/年。這種乙烯-1-辛烯共聚物將利用LG化學的茂金屬聚合催化劑和溶液法技術。

　　這種彈性體產品將與陶氏化學和埃克森美孚生產的相同產品進行競爭，主要用于制造密封、粘合劑、緩沖器和模塑柔性部件。

LG Chem to build large polyolefin elastomers plant in South Korea

LG Chem Ltd., a leading chemicals player in South Korea, said Monday it plans to invest 400 billion South Korean won ($351.4 million) in a new elastomers plant in South Korea to meet growing demand. The new plant at Daesan will have the capacity to produce 200,000 metric tons per year of LG Chem’s Lucene thermoplastic polyolefin elastomer, which will raise its total output of the elastomer to 290,000 tons by 2018. The product, ethylene-1-octene copolymer, uses LG Chem’s metallocene polymerization catalyst and solution process technology.

The elastomers, which compete with similar products made by Dow Chemical Co. and ExxonMobil Chemical Corp., are used to make seals, adhesives, shock absorbers, and molded flexible parts.
